Putin not to discuss Belousov’s idea on new taxes on high income
MESEBERG, Germany, Aug 20 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to hold a meeting and discuss the idea of his aide Andrei Belousov to introduce additional taxes on some national companies, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on August 19.
“The president is unable to hold meetings to discuss each and every question on which the government is working,” he said, when asked whether Putin plans a meeting to discuss the issue.
Experts have submitted their point of view, and Putin approved a decision to work on Belousov’s suggestion. “We see different point of views. We will form a standpoint,” he said.
Earlier in August, Belousov suggested additional taxes totaling up to 500 billion rubles a year on some metals, petrochemical, and fertilizer producers, including metals companies Norilsk Nickel, Evraz, NLMK, Severstal, MMK, Metalloinvest, and Mechel, coal producer SUEK, diamond mining giant ALROSA, petrochemical holding Sibur, gold producer Polyus, and fertilizer producers PhosAgro, Uralkali, and Acron.
